Michael Stewart, my Guru, Teacher, Mentor and dear friend who introduced me to ‘real’ yoga and continues to guide me on this beautiful pathway we call yoga. On this site you will be able to see where and when he is teaching. I can’t recommend him enough. Once you have experienced his teachings you will be drawn back again and again. Thank you Michael for all that I learn from you. See you in five breaths….
Proud to listed in the ‘Teacher Directory’ of International Yoga Academy as a Yoga Therapist and Teacher. The International Yoga Academy was founded by a team of professional yoga masters in 2003 to promote yoga beyond India and Asia. Its goal is the spread of yoga philosophy through experts and masters who have devoted their lives to the study of yoga.
The Hope Foundation for Street Children works inside the slums and on the streets of Calcutta. Our projects educate children and enable them to keep up with school, provide healthcare to those turned away from state hospitals and skills training to young people who have no other way to earn a living. I donate a percentage of takings from my Yoga classes and workshops to sponsor a child’s welfare and education, giving her the chance of a better life. In October 2014 I am going to Kolkata with The HOPE Foundation to volunteer and teach Yoga to the children and their carers as well as visit HOPE’s various projects. The event I’m organising in July is in aid of HOPE. www.thehopefoundation.org.uk
YOGAMASTI sell beautiful and yet functional YOGA CLOTHING for both men and women – http://www.yogamasti.com/shop/ You will have seen me in their Yoga tops and pants. I can really recommend them for quality as well as practicality. They also sell, mats, bags, jewellery – anything you need for Yoga really! I can highly recommend their DVD for a home practice called “The Flow Within”, set in naturalistic ashram-like, serene surroundings together with the beautiful sounds of flute and chimes and Rangoli art. This DVD is sufficiently challenging for all levels with adaptations for those needing to modify and you can choose how much you do depending on how much time or energy you have!
Every week of the year, hundreds of children aged three to eighteen throng to an impressive range of classes in a variety of dance disciplines as well as drama, musical theatre and singing. This offers them an introduction to lifelong pleasure. It provides every child with rich opportunities to develop co-operative learning, healthy bodies and a genuine delight in the energy and aesthetic of dance. To many, these classes are also the first steps along the ladder to a diversity of stimulating professional careers in the arts. http://www.bodywork-dance.co.uk”
